How Your Business Can Spread Goodness This GivingTuesday

Around here at Uptick Marketing, we care about our local nonprofits. Our nonprofit digital division works hard every day to empower them with the same digital marketing strategies that help local businesses win.
This GivingTuesday—on November 30—your business has a unique opportunity to support the important work of nonprofits too.

What Is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that follows all the other “commercial” holidays around Thanksgiving—Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday.
It started back in 2012 as a way for people to do good and give back. After all that spending, it’s a way for individuals to support the nonprofits in their community and around the world. But it doesn’t have to stop there. Your business can also get involved!

Why Should I Get Involved?

Why wouldn’t you? When your community thrives, so does your business. So giving back to your local nonprofits is a great stepping stone to doing good for your business and doing good for the community.
That not a good enough reason for you? Check out these facts:

  • 85% of shoppers favor brands/products/companies when they support a cause;
  • 61% of American consumers would shop at a new brand if it supports a cause; and
  • 92% of employees feel more loyal to their company when involved in cause efforts.

These stats show that supporting a cause is a great way to build trust for your brand and company. That impact is even higher when you choose a cause that is in your local community and/or aligns with your business practices. (Think: A sporting goods store would be a great business to support NorthStar Soccer Ministries.)

How Can My Business Support GivingTuesday?

Honestly, there’s no limit to how you can support our area’s nonprofits this GivingTuesday. You could do something like we do every year with the Magic City Makeover. We donate $50,000+ worth of our digital marketing services to local nonprofits. Leverage your businesses to support them in a way that has the biggest impact!
Here are some other ways you can support local nonprofits:

  • Make a matching gift! Match all donations that the nonprofit receives this GivingTuesday.
  • Donate a portion of your sales on GivingTuesday to the nonprofit of your choice.
  • Take a group of employees to volunteer (in-person or virtually).
  • Last but not least, encourage your clients/customers/shoppers to join you in support!

We invite you to support one (or more!) of the nonprofit organizations that partner with us. Each and every one of them plays an important part in our community, and we’re so thankful to be a part of their story.
