Three Reasons You’re Not Being Found On Google [Infographic]

local search engine optimization
How many times have you searched for a business on Google Maps and been taken to the wrong location? I have on several occasions, and it’s not fun. The last thing you want your customers to do is be taken to the wrong location and given the wrong information from Google about your business.
That’s why local search engine optimization exists: to get your business listed appropriately. Without it, you won’t be found the way you want to be. Here are three reasons why your business is not being found on Google.

#1: You Haven’t Updated Your Local Listings

When’s the last time you updated your local listings? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Updating your local business listings is going to be the last thing on your mind. Making sure your local listings are consistent is crucial for Google to portray the correct information.

#2: Your Business Address Isn’t Listed

Is your business address listed on your website? You may think that’s a crazy statement, but Google looks for reasons to trust your site. If you don’t have any address listing on your site then how do you expect Google to find you? I suggest that your name, address, and phone number be listed in the footer of your website. This will build your credibility with Google.

#3: You’ve Changed Locations

You’ve moved. Every time you move you have to clean up your old address information. You know how when you move houses you have to alert the post office? Well, when you move you also need to let the big data suppliers, citation providers, review sites, and Google know that you’ve moved. Otherwise, your information will continue to revert back to the old.
