What Success Looks Like for the Social Media Team

One of our favorite parts about working with clients is watching their social media metrics skyrocket after onboarding. We work closely with our clients to create strategies that will drive engagement and increase reach on social media. It’s exhilarating to watch the metrics dramatically increase once we start implementing our strategies and content. We also make it our mission to maintain that momentum and continue delivering exciting and engaging content.

Social Media Marketing Challenges and Misconceptions

We find that the biggest misconception with social media marketing is that you can post to your business profiles in the same way that you post to your personal profiles. In reality, social media requires ample time, patience, flexibility, and strategy. Social media trends change so much faster than anything else. What’s trending right now might not be trending by the time you get the posts up. That’s why it’s essential to keep your feed a good mixture of “tried and true” posts, with a few trends mixed in. (We like to think of it as similar to your wardrobe. You always want to have your staple pieces with a few trendy items mixed in.)

Tips from our Team

We asked our social media team to share some wisdom about social media marketing. This is what they have to say:
Anna: Be consistent! It can be easy to let life and business consume your time and let social media fall to the side. But it’s imperative to post consistently to maintain your audience and engagement. It also lends credibility to your business or organization when people are looking at you for the first time. If they’re thinking about buying your product or donating to your nonprofit, but you haven’t posted in a few weeks or months? People are going to think twice about going forward.
Also, make sure you have a strategy for your social media posting. You don’t want to post randomly. Every post should have a purpose—drive people to your website, show people what your organization is like to help with recruiting, etc.
Alexis: Be patient and kind to yourself while you are learning. Social media marketing is an ever-changing landscape, and it can feel overwhelming! Just be patient, and know that the work you are doing will be seen and rewarded.
