  • 2nd Place: Redemptive Cycles – $10,000 in online marketing services!

Why A Giveaway?

Our little digital marketing company started out November 2014 with only two full time members on the team, Nicole and Jerry, and one part time employee, Lance. The goal was to bring Lance on board full-time within six months.
Much to our surprise, Uptick’s business quickly gained its footing. We began to race past our original goals and cross even further finish lines than we could have imagined.
Today, just a year and a half later, we have nearly 20 full time employees – an incredible team with a sincere commitment to helping our clients grow their businesses.

It’s Time To Give Back

When we first created Uptick, a goal was always to find a way to give back. What better way to give back to the community than to help nonprofits who are already changing lives?
So, we created Uptick’s Magic City Marketing Makeover – a competition for Birmingham-based nonprofits. The winner would receive $25,000 worth of online marketing. Entry was simple: fill out an application, create a short video that describes your organization, tell Uptick how you impact Birmingham, and explain how winning this package could help forward your organization’s goals!
The results were simply unbelievable. As nonprofits entered the competition, we realized that every organization had extraordinary heart, passion, and commitment to helping others. It was awe-inspiring to see just how many people are doing good within our community.
We brought in four judges and together they narrowed our entries down to 15 finalists.
From there, a social media ‘like and share’ contest began, and the support from the community was overwhelming!
After adding up the judges scores, and figuring in the ‘like and share’ portion of our contest, the competition was just too close for us to feel justified in announcing a single winner. So, we rallied our team together and decided it best to not only add a second place prize of $10,000 in online marketing services, but to also offer a small package of 3 hours of consultation and strategy development to the 15 finalists!
Additionally, we are working together with Ginger Jefferson of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham to plan a half day workshop for these finalists.
Watching these nonprofits tell their story has been incredible. After seeing their dedication to the Birmingham community, as well as the astounding level of response to the competition, we have decided to make this an annual event!

Keep Your Eyes Peeled for Uptick’s Magic City Makeover in 2017

We plan to hold this competition again next year! Spread the word to all of your other nonprofit friends across the town and keep a look out for the competition announcement – and the results of the marketing services received by this year’s winners.
Thank you Birmingham, for this eye-opening, and moving experience. We are already looking forward to next year’s competition.
