Digital Marketing: Our Clients’ Most Burning Questions

digital marketing

Our clients are smart–and when they have questions about their digital marketing strategies, they tend to be really good questions.

As a project manager, it’s my job to make sure our clients are taken care of in the very best way. That often means answering the questions they have about what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. So what are these questions, and how do we answer them? Let’s take a look.

FAQ #1: Why Are Some Ads Working Better Than Others?

Advertising online is a science, but it’s also an art–and it’s not entirely predictable. There are several factors that go into the success of an online ad, like the audience that’s being targeted, the placement of the ad, and the type of message it communicates. Of course, we’re constantly looking at what’s working and making adjustments as we go. If something isn’t working as well as it could, we don’t want to keep doing it!

FAQ #2: How Can I Grow Organic Traffic?

At Uptick, we know it’s important to:

  • send the right message…
  • at the right time…
  • to the right people…
  • with repetition.

When these four things are being done, organic website traffic increases because the people who are actually looking for your product or service are seeing it at a time when they’re interested, and they’re seeing it enough times that they actually remember it. That turns prospects into leads, and often, it turns leads into paying customers.

FAQ #3: How Can I Get Reviews?

There are many ways to seek reviews, but it can be tough to actually get them. At Uptick, we use review tracking to keep up with any reviews that come in, anywhere on the internet. But how do our clients get those reviews in the first place? Well, typically, they ask for them. If our clients have a list of customer email addresses, they may decide to reach out to those customers and ask them to leave a review. Whether or not they actually do it is out of our clients’ control, but what they can control is providing the kind of customer experience that makes people want to shout their name from the rooftops.

So, the short answer: You can get reviews by offering an exceptional experience to your customers, and then reaching out to them directly to see if they’re willing to review you online.

FAQ #4: How Can We Make Sure We Reach the Right People?

Here is the real beauty of online marketing: you can put your ad in front of people who are interested in what you do instead of casting a wide net and just hoping some of the right people get caught up in it.

With retargeting, boosting, and the like, we can essentially take the guesswork out of advertising by restricting the audience who sees your ads to people that we know are actively looking at your website. (These are the ads that follow you around the internet after you looked at a pair of shoes or something like that.)

Boosting on Facebook allows for all kinds of parameters, too, so that you’re not–as the saying goes–trying to sell ice to an eskimo. Instead, you’re selling ice to someone who’s been looking at ice from other ice vendors, who’s overheated, whose drink is too warm, and who’s ready to buy–and they want information on ice vendors now.
