Uptick’s Projects & Operations Manager, James Gearhart, knows that great work rarely happens by accident. It takes clear communication, dependable systems, and a plan that keeps everyone moving in the same direction. At Uptick, James develops the processes that help our team work efficiently, deliver projects on time, and create a better, more reliable experience for every client.
James began developing his leadership skills in the United States Marine Corps. He spent six years in Light Armored Reconnaissance and completed his military service as a platoon sergeant, which taught him how to lead teams, communicate under pressure, and keep complex operations moving forward.
After his military service, James built a career in project management, starting at the Disneyland Resort in California. During his four years with the Walt Disney Company, he worked his way up to Operations Manager for the Character Entertainment Department. James says that one of the highlights of his time at Disneyland was helping coordinate the launch of “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” which remains one of Disney’s most iconic park experiences.
After Disney, James kept his sights set on project management, taking classes at the Project Management Institute to earn his Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification. James joined Infomedia (our sister company) as a Project Manager upon completing his CAPM. His combined experience in operations and project management led him to Uptick, where he now helps our team build accurate roadmaps, set realistic expectations, and complete deliverables on schedule.
James is especially passionate about creating the behind-the-scenes structure that makes great marketing happen. While clients may never see every workflow, projection, or process he helps build, they experience the results through clearer communication, faster deliverables, and fewer surprises. For James, that work ultimately supports what he enjoys most about marketing: Helping clients tell the stories of their companies and products more effectively.
When he isn’t mapping out projects or refining processes, James is likely experimenting in the kitchen or watching the latest Formula 1 races.
