Director of Account Services

Alan is Uptick’s Director of Account Services, and he helps our clients get the most out of their marketing strategies based on their business goals.

In this role, he works closely with Uptick’s account management, production, and operations teams to ensure full alignment with the client’s vision, monitor progress, and develop an ongoing action plan to deliver results.

Immediately upon graduating from Samford University, Alan worked as a video content creator for Samford’s athletics department. He then completed a multi-year stint at Student Life for Lifeway Christian Resources. He gained experience in live video broadcasts, graphic design, marketing videos, and final product delivery. His background in videography makes him a gifted storyteller with a keen eye for visuals, a skill he still draws on for his clients' marketing strategies and campaigns.

When Alan joined Uptick, he built on his creative background by expanding into client communication, account strategy, paid media planning, campaign development, and team leadership. Originally a Marketing Consultant, he now leads our team of Marketing Consultants and Account Managers. He’s helped clients across multiple industries, including legal, home services, retail, hospitality, staffing, financial services, and more. This breadth of experience has enabled him to adapt marketing strategies across various audiences, goals, and business needs.

Alan is an analytics devotee; he loves analyzing the results his clients are getting and using hard data to help them refine their marketing strategy. One of his greatest strengths is research, and it pays off in spades in the digital space: Alan is almost always the first one to point out an industry change coming down the pipeline, whether it’s related to an advertising shift from Google or just a new way to approach messaging in general. That ability to stay on top of both the numbers and the industry helps Alan recognize when a client’s marketing strategy is working as planned—and when changes in results, goals, or a client’s internal dynamics mean it's time to pivot.

Alan loves sports, and even though he went to Samford—where he participated in a Step Sing group called Dudes-A-Plenty (yes, seriously)—he is a huge fan of Tennessee and Auburn football. He also really likes to watch hockey, and he talks a lot (some would say too much) about the Nashville Predators.

When he’s not at work, Alan enjoys spending time with his wife, Caroline, and their two daughters, Evelyn and Elizabeth.

Go-To Hot Take
Alan insists that you can only find Goo-Goo Clusters in Nashville, Tennessee (they can be found in places other than Nashville, even if it is Nashville’s Official Candy).
His “Superpower”
Alan’s superpower is his uncanny ability to get phrases or sayings wrong. Sometimes, it’s almost right. Other times, it’s way off the mark.
His Office Kryptonite
Superman has his kryptonite… and so does Alan. Alan is oddly cold all the time, regardless of the temperature outside or in the office. Even if it was 100°F outside, and the office A/C went out, Alan would still have his desk space heater running at full blast. Yes, we’ve told him to start taking iron supplements.
