Alexis is who to go to for compelling content in a flash. Her love of writing has followed her since she can remember—and it shows. An introvert at heart, Alexis still lights up the office with her quick wit and sense of humor.
If you’d ask to describe her upbringing in one word, we’d bet this would be her reply: busy. She grew up in a family of five girls, participated in dance teams, competed with the marching band, produced her high school news show, and led the charge in many group projects during her studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Whew—we’re tired just talking about it!
Although she is a Birmingham fanatic, Alexis is not a native of the ‘ham. She has moved more than 15 times and has lived in four states: Utah, Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama. Alexis landed in the Magic City in 2018 to pursue a degree in public relations at UAB and quickly fell in love with the city. She jumped right into the marketing world in Birmingham through social media internships and public relations campaigns through school. After (virtual) graduation in 2020, Alexis began working as a social media manager for a local bakery. While trying to resist the temptation of all those cakes and cupcakes, she quickly learned the power of written communication and its ability to amplify a business’s main message. Alexis was initially hired for our social media team, but she moved to our SEO team shortly thereafter because we realized her incredible long-form writing and strategy skills made her the perfect fit. Since joining our SEO team, Alexis has become our de facto Local SEO guru, taking on everything from fighting spammy Google Reviews to verifying and flawlessly optimizing their GBP profiles.
When she's not in the office, you can find Alexis caring for her many houseplants and enjoying a cup of coffee. She loves hanging out with her family, watching Formula 1, and cheering on the 2021 World Series Champions, the Atlanta Braves!
